7/7/11 09:06 pm - Legacy of An Adopted Child

My mom showed me this poem today and I thought it was really good.

 Legacy Of An Adopted Child

Once there were two women
Who never knew each other.
One you do not remember,
The other you call mother.

Two different lives
Shaped to make yours one,
One became your guiding star,
The other became your sun.

The first gave you life,
And the second taught you to live it.
And the first gave you a need for love,
And the second was there to give it.

One gave you a nationality.
The other gave you a name.
One gave you the seeds of talent,
The other gave you aim.

One gave you emotions,
The other calmed your fears.
One saw your first sweet smile,
The other dried your tears.

One gave you up,
It was all that she could do.
The other prayed for a child,
And God led her straight to you.

And now you ask me through your tears,
The age old question through the years.
Heredity or environment, Which are you a product of?
Neither, my Darling, Neither,
Just two different kinds of love.

Overall I really enjoyed the convention.  It was really well run and other than a few minor complaints I had no problems.  It's a model convention to me and a lot of cons could learn from it. Every staffer that I spoke with was very helpful and knowledgeable.  Only one time did I ever see anyone yelling at a staffer about waiting in a line, but the staffer kept his cool.  There were a lot of families at the con as well and people weren't as annoying as normal.  I can't recommend Sakura-Con enough.

Oh and someone took a picture of me wearing  my Park Ji-sung jersey at the convention, I'm not sure if he thought i was cosplaying or not ^_^;;;.

And huntressfan you should bid a lot!  Good thing you got your one bid in even though you knew you weren't going to win.  It's a lot of fun watching people spend their money, but nerve wracking when you're trying to win something.

5/23/10 02:14 pm - Fort Worth (Part 1)

I'm here for work for the next few weeks, so I might as well keep a record.  I flew in Monday which wasn't a bad flight.  On the landing, I could see Cowboys Stadium and we were that close to it!  I still haven't been to downtown Dallas or Fort Worth since I got here, but I'm hoping to some time soon.

This first week wasn't bad.  I did a lot of shopping and eating out, but that was to be expected.  Plus I watched a lot of anime, which is always good.  I should start studying for the CPA exam soon, but I keep putting that off......hopefully this week.  I have two flat screen TVs in my room, however neither are in HD!  What kind of crap is that?  Oh well, it's not like I haven't lived without HD before.....The worst thing that happened so far was my tire was low and even after filing it with air, I had to return it to the rental car place and they replaced my car.  Hopefully this one doesn't develop a problem too.

Working is going well, it seems like it's going to keep me busy and will be a challenge, which I'm looking forward to.
