Matt's Crazy Rants

With FUNi rescuing a lot of Geneon shows, me buying all six volumes of Shana looks quit stupid now, but I'm still glad I did that.  Although if the OVA comes with the box set only, I'll be pretty pissed.  That being said I'm glad FUNi resurrected all those titles from both ADV and Geneon.  I'm still not 100% confident in the industry, but at least FUNi, Bandai (thank you for Hayate!), and Media Blasters are still going strong (for now).

No I'm not having one right now, but something interesting happened at school yesterday.  While in class this bell started going off.  It didn't sound like a "traditional" fire bell, but more like a bell you ring to signal the end of the round in a boxing match, except it didn't stop.  Well eventually someone went out to see what was up and it was actually the fire alarm!  For the most part we thought it was just a drill so no reason to leave, but Public Safety (the police) told someone in the class we had to go.  Then we all left the room and didn't move that far from the building as none of us took the threat seriously . Eventually we tried to go back into the building and were told to leave again.  Weird stuff.  I guess someone pulled the fire alarm and ran, but who really knows.

Oh and I was supposed to participate in a debate that night in class, so we did it outside, which while kind of odd was pretty cool.  The speech went fine and hopefully that's the last speech I'll ever have to do as a graduate student! :D

I just realized it's been over a month since I started my countdown and I'm not past #16 yet, well I promise I'll start again in the next couple of days.  Schools been kind of hectic as has life, but I haven't forgotten about this (if anyone cares :P).

So there's a Geneon sale at RightStuf right now.  I went to check my order status and noticed it.  I then went through their shows to see if there was anything I was missing or needed.  For the most part, there was nothing I wanted, but one show caught my eye.  Kannazuki no Miko.  I had to look it up, but I thought Ayako Kawasumi played the lead, which she does!  Then I remembered KOTOKO sang the OP, but I didn't realize she sang the ED as well.  Sold!  I even went with vol. 1 w/box, just because it was only $5 more.  Hopefully the show isn't a complete dud, but I'll take my chances on it for only $25 total (including shipping).  It's been a while since I impulsively bought any anime so I'm kind of excited to see this show.

EDIT: Wow I just realized that's the last show I'll probably ever order from Geneon (unless they come back).  That's kind of sad.  Oh and I'm glad Shana vols. 1-6 wasn't on that list, I would have been really mad about buying those at Oni-Con last year (although looking back now, it was definitely worth it).  And if you read this before the edit, I did just change my mood.

Wow I should probably finish this before I completely forget what happened.

I forgot to mention I saw a person wearing a "Nice Boat" shirt on Friday morning.  Too bad I couldn't find one in the Dealers Room.

Ugh, I've been so busy with school and work I haven't had time to update this before I forget what happened.  Right now I'm actually taking a break during studying (yes even on a Friday night!) to get an entry in.  I was going to say "quick", but we all know this won't be short ^_^;;;;.

Alright I'm home from ACen!  I had a good time.  It was fun seeing everyone again (strawberryeggs, huntressfan, machinger4, plus meeting Nathan's sister and Jim's friend).  I guess I'll have a write up, even though I never did a Youmacon one ^_^;;;;.  I'll probably start this week , but that means my anime girl countdown will go on hold :P.  Although I'm working some crazy hours and school is pretty hectic as well, so I'm not sure when I'll have time for anything :o.
